The research vessel Muikku
The Finnish environmental administration's research vessel Muikku is equipped with a wide range of sampling and measuring systems.
The systems enable detailed investigations of the state of aquatic environments in the Baltic Sea, the Saimaa Lake System, and elsewhere. The vessel is also used for the purposes of environmental training.
The crew of R/V Muikku collaborates in sampling. Moreover, 1-2 persons work in the laboratory during the trips on the Vuoksi watercourse. The laboratory on board R/V Muikku operates in compliance with a quality manual. The data of CTD system, ADCP, echo sounders, location, weather, fluorometer and water analyses is processed and saved in the on-line Data Management System.
