SYKE collects certain data from the open Baltic Sea for monitoring and research purposes. Monitoring includes hydrography, nutrients, phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos and certain harmful substances in biota.
Monitoring data are freely available from Helcom monitoring stations, and most of it are now available directly from this web site.
The data is made available subject to the following conditions. By downloading or ordering the data you agree to be bound by these conditions:
1. All intellectual property rights and other rights to the data are owned exclusively by SYKE. SYKE grants you a limited license to use the data as specified in these conditions.
2. You may use the data only for your personal use.
3. The retrieval and use of the data for personal use in accordance with these conditions is free of charge.
4. In all publications and applications utilizing the data you acknowledge SYKE as the data originator and proprietor.You may do this either by referring to the report

or by clearly stating, that the data used is collected and owned by SYKE.
6. SYKE continuously strives to improve the quality of the data and its services. Therefore, SYKE invites you to (i) note and report any errors or omissions discovered, (ii) give feedback on functionalities and data packaging, (iii) help improve the coordinated use of data and to inform SYKE about applications utilizing the data.
7. While SYKE strives to make available high-quality and error-free data, SYKE cannot accept any liability for any mistakes in the data or for any damages caused by such mistakes. The data is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
