The picture presents the forecast for the change of surface water total cyanobacterial biomass in the next three days (µmol/l nitrogen in the biomass). The forecasted change can be a result of cyanobacterial growth and mortality, or surface flow and vertical mixing.
NB: The IT environment of our ocean model is approaching the end of its life. We aim at moving our models to a new IT environment in the spring 2007. In the meantime there may be interruptions in the availability of model forecasts, which are caused by occasional instability of the IT environment. In the worst cases these interruptions may have a length of a few days. We announce the end of service interruptions on an e-mail list which can be joined by sending a mail to modelannouncements-list-join at the fimr.fi domain.
